As it was mentioned before the waterjet-milled rubber powder possesses outstanding active chemical properties that enable it for added-value industrial applications (so-called in-material upcycling). The most uniqueness is that the powder is able for revulcanization in its original form without any previous de-vulcanization process. By these exceptional properties the product behaves as an intelligent matrix-builder component for various rubber and engineered technical plastic compounds. Left-side ambient crumb as well as cryogenic crumb in the middle have limited specific surfaces because of their typically plane particle surfaces. These are due to shear zone of ambient milling, as well as brittle fracturing of cryogenic grinding. The right-side waterjet-ground powder particles show advantageous micro convex-concave surface morphology of that high specific surface supports the immanent chemical activity of this material.
„Due to the support of the Norwegian Grants, AquaJet Ltd. has finalized their plant developments. By launching a new production line and renewing the existing ones, the plant is now capable of producing up to 770 tons of waterjet-milled rubber powder.
The project was implemented within the framework of the Norwegian Green Industry Innovation Program, the Fund received HUF 412 million in non-refundable aid to the company. The total cost of development amounted to HUF 750 million.
Through Norway Grants and EEA Grants, Norway’s purpose is to reduce social and economic disparities and strengthening of bilateral relations with the recipient countries in Europe. Norway’s contribution in the period 2009-2015 amounted to EUR 1.7 billion.
